crazy week

Last week was a crazy week. Midterm exams practically took over my life the entire week and I could honestly not be anymore relieved that they are over. It feels really, really good to be done with them, so I can carry on with my normal schedule.
This little guy was my exam companion. My brother was dog-sitting for our friends and we got to keep sweet Sammie for the week. He sat with me through my tests and there might have even been a few times during my math test where I handed him the pencil and attempted to let him finish.
 {A failed attempt at capturing our reflections in his glasses}
 My brother turned 12 on the eighth. I can't even believe he's so close to becoming a teenager. It's crazy. I love this boy so much, though. We share so, so many laughs together and he's hilarious. Behind the goofy faces, he's one of the most generous people I know. Plus, he even posed for a few photos for a mini birthday shoot. He's my favorite 12 year old.
We went out for dinner on his birthday, which was a memorable experience, and on the way home, it was raining. I got stuck in the backseat and snapped these photos of the raindrops on the windows while we drove. I had no idea what they looked like until I uploaded them and was seriously surprised to see how interesting they turned out.

So here I am. Alive and ready to continue on with normal life, after a crazy, crazy week.
how was your week?

  5. I love that first shot of Sammie. Too pretty! And you are gorgeous. I know, it kind of hurts to see your brothers growing up, but when they get older, you can relate to so much more. My brothers and I are like this X *fingers crossed, in case you were curious.* Also, lovely shots of the lights!
