a new year.

This sounds so cliche, but I seriously can't believe we're just hours away from saying farewell to 2011 and hello to 2012. It's been an amazing year and I'm excited for another. As another year begins, it's really neat to reflect on all that has happened in those twelve months. Looking back through my old posts makes me love blogging even more. I've made many mistakes this year, but I've also been so blessed and grown so much. 

A few highlights of 2011: It snowed 6 inches. I ended up in the hospital after experiencing intense side pains to find that I had multiple kidney stones. I started to become more interested in photography. I performed at my last recital before stepping back from dance. I published my 400th post.  I survived another year of finals.  I discovered my love for cooking and healthy food. I turned fourteen. I bought my first DSLR camera; a Canon EOS t3i. It was a really good year. 

All these moments, now memories, from 2011 have shaped who I am. This past year I've really grown so much. {vertically and spiritually.} Even though I'm still figuring out so much, I've discovered many things about myself and my interests and I pray that I will only continue to grow into the person God has created me to be this next year. 

 With each year comes new growth, experiences, mistakes, decisions, lessons, and unknowns. It's a little scary, to start a new year and plunge into these unknowns and seasons of growth, but it's exciting. As I look back on all that has happened in 2011, I can't wait to see what God has in store for this next year. I don't know what lies ahead, but He does and I'm trusting Him. These next few years of my life hold lots of important decisions and transitions and all I can do is trust.
